3. "Three new musical instruments, an electrical violin, a clavier, and an electrical guitar, attract much comment from spectators at the outdoor science theater in the court of the Hall of Science at the World's Fair. The instruments are the invention of Lloyd Loar, lecturer on the physics of music at Northwestern University, who is seated at the clavier. The other musicians are Charles Stein (left) and Ruth Brenner (right). The instruments produce an electrical current which is amplified and converted into sound by the loudspeaker shown in the picture."
