[Exterior view of the nearly completed General Exhibits building at A Century of Progress, just over a week before the grand opening of the Fair.]
2.
"A view of the Lagoon theater, grandstand and the John R. Thompson twin restaurants as seen from the Hiram Walker 'Doodlebug' in the north lagoon at A Century of Progress. The theater has been roofed and a permanent stage built on spiles has replaced the roofless stands and floating stage of 1933. The changes were made because of the extreme popularity of the theater last year. At the left may be seen the completed unit of the Thompson restaurants, which began serving food today."
3.
"Professor Avard Fairbanks, sculptor, of the Division of Fine Arts, University of Michigan, who created the statue, 'Tragedy at Winter Quarters,' has just completed a companion piece to that classic. The second work, 'New Life,' depicting American folk of today, is seen here. It also is attracting thousands of visitors to A Century of Progress."
4.
"With only small sections of the walls completed, this little building in the General Electric exhibit at a Century of Progress shows how homes are wired for electric service. Even the electric clock is cut in two so that connections may be seen."
