DescriptionThe photograph shows the William H. Herring House as it appears in the book "Bushnell , McDonough County, Illinois, " (1914) complied by Albert Walter Lewis. "Bushnell Man Dies Suddenly: Willis Herring collapses at Niece's Home Had Returned from Visit with Wife in Sanitarium--Will Hold Inquest Tonight." Willis Herring, 67, well known in Bushnell died suddenly this afternoon at the home of his niece, Mrs. J.L. Stanbury in Bushnell. He was sitting in a rocking chair when he collapsed. He was dead upon the arrival of Dr. Roan who was called. mr. Herring who had been making his home with his niece returned a few days ago from a business trip to western Illinois. He had been to visit his wife in the sanitarium at bushnell just before his death. Coroner H.S. Bobbitt will conduct an inquest at eight o'clock tonight at the Scudden funeral home."
