Subject HeadingMacomb--Public Buildings (City Hall)
Description"Built in 1919 just east of the square by Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Bacon, this home was probably the finest residence in Macomb and featured lovely gardens on the east side. After the Bacons died, the home became the Holland Clinic (1939-1943), then the Macomb USO (1943-1945), then a community building (1945-1949), and finally city hall (1949-present). Recently renovated and greatly expanded, it was rededicated on June 25, 2002." "McDonough County Historic Sites, " by John E. Hallwas, p. 32. The digital image has been cropped. The original and full image is available.
