Description"This winter image of Sciota shows East Douglas Street looking west in the early 20th century, when the town had more than 300 residents. The large building in the center is E.E. Sapp's general store, and the smaller brick building to the right of it is the Sciota National Bank. Sapp also operated one of Sciota's three grain elevators, located across the street. In the lower right is George Elmer Bryan's store, established in 1912 in an old Christian church building, where the post office was also located until that building burned in 1931." "McDonough County Historic Sites, " by John E. Hallwas, p. 44.
