Description"The Atkinson Cemetery, east of Arglyle Lake on land now owned by the state park, dates from 1839, and it includes two burials of historic interest. One is the grave of William Willard....He was from Loudoun County, Virginia, and served twice in the Revolutionary War, during 1778 and 1781. He later came west with his daughter Mary and son-in-law John McCord. He died in 1846 at the remarkable age of 97." McDonough County Historic Sites, " by John E. Hallwas, p. 54.
