DescriptionThe three-story building in the center of the photograph is the Alexander Hotel on West Main Street in Bushnell, Illinois. As a December 30, 1915, "McDonough Democrat" article says, "The New Alexander Hotel is modern in all ways. The hotel has 60 rooms for guests. There are 15 rooms with complete bath. There are ten rooms with toilet. In every room there is hot and cold running water, and in every room there is a telephone, which, if the guest wishes, they can telephone anywhere, or there are direct connections with the local and Bell Telephone systems. In every room there is steam heat, electric light, everything that the most up-to-date hotel has." An open house for the hotel was held January 1, 1916.
