Description"A congregation called the Salem Meeting House of the Brethren in Christ was organized in 1857 in Eldorado Township, and it soon constructed a church near the intesection of roads 150N and 1950E on land provided by members of the Chockley family. The church is no longer there, but the adjacent Chockley Cemetery remains. It has graves dating from as early as the 1840s, and notable also are the two fieldstone monuments shown here. Erected in 1921 and 1926 by Albert L. Adams, they memorialize Americn soldiers who died in World War I (right) and 'President Wilson, the Unknown Soldier, and the Red Cross Nurse' (left)."
