DescriptionThe first McDonough County Orphanage was located at 415 North Madison Street. The house was originally the home of early Macomb resident Joseph E. Wyne. Josie Westfall operated the orphanage from its inception in 1913 until her death in 1941. Josie Westfall, orphanage matron, is in the back to the left holding a child. Seated to the left in the front is orphanage treasurer and head of the McDonough County Humane Society Rose Jolly. Image used in the Macomb Story (2005 edition).
