| Description | As found with the documentation: ASTROCYTOMA OF THE CEREBELLUM G.M.NA90/44 2-1/2 yr. old white male Nov. 1944 Gradual onset 4 months before admission of unsteadiness, irritability, gross tremor of the upper extremities and incontinence. Examination revealed enlargement of the head, chronic papilledema with atrophy of both optic discs, rigidity of all four extremities and stiffness of the neck. Ventriculography revealed enormous hydrocephalus of the lateral and third ventricles with no air in the fourth ventricle. The aqueduct was patent. Posterior fossa exploration revealed a large astrocytoma in the midline of the cerebellum. Postoperatively he developed convulsions and hyperthermia and died. |
