| Description | As found with the documentation: 57/1942 43 year old colored female who started to have ""mental symptoms"" with her menopause 2 years previous to hospitalization. Repeated generalized convulsions with tongue biting. Blood Kahn was positive, spinal fluid Wassermann negative. Patient appeared to be a typical mental defective and question arose whether seizures were due to syphilis of central nervous system despite negative spinal fluid test. At autopsy, striking gross findings were a thickening of the frontal bone with hyperostosis of the internal table. |
