| Description | As found with the documentation: CRANIOPHARYNGIOMA NA 80/46 11 year old ??? male with a 2 year history of increasing frontal headaches, blurred vision, sensitivity to cold, joint pains, forgetfulness, increasing disorientation, crying spells, and anxiety attacks, along with 6 convulsions in the year prior to admission with left facial paresis, ptosis of the left ??? 9 months of projectile vomiting, ataxia, dizziness, and weight loss of 25 lbs. Examination revealed an immature individual who appeared 5 to 7 years younger than stated age. Ther was bitemporal hemianopsia, 4 diopter papilledema on the right side and 2-1/2 on the left, with secondary atropny, and paresis of the left 6th and 7th nerves. Pupils were dilated and the left was larger. There was general muscle hypotonia, genital infantilism, pallor and ataxia with deep reflexes diminished on the right. EEG revealed very slow waves in all leads suggestive of a deep mid??? tumor. Skull x-rays showed sellar calcification, and a ventriculogram... symmetrical hydrocephalus with no filling of the 3rd ventricle. Ventricular fluid had a total protein of 22 mgm. percent. The tumor was biopsied...ight frontal bone flap and the patient died on the following day. |
