| Description | View to the east along the north side of Ogden Slip, showing North Pier Chicago, a re-development of the former North Pier Terminal (Pugh Terminal) warehouse. The photograph, taken in summer, shows a number of people seated at a floating dockside cafe, and many boats docked on the river alongside the building. Renamed River East Plaza in 1999, the structure contains retail space and condominiums, and is home to the River East Art Center event venue. The North Pier Apartment building is visible in an early stage of construction on the far right of the image (completed 1991.) Lake Point Tower rises behind. |
