| Description | Photograph of Sandburg Village, showing a row of kiosks along a pedestrian walkway. Groupings of row houses flank the walkway, and apartment towers stand behind these. Begun in the early 1960's as an urban renewal project, Sandburg Village is a mix of high-rise apartment buildings, townhouses and mid-rises. The complex occupies the area along Clark and LaSalle Streets between Division Street and North Avenue, with a few buildings on the east side of Clark Street. Sandburg Village converted to condominium ownership in 1979. |
