| Description | Photograph of Sandburg Village, showing a pedestrian walkway through the complex. Bryant House is the apartment tower in the center of the picture, and part of Lowell House is visible behind it to the right. A group of townhouses is visible in front. Begun in the early 1960's as an urban renewal project, Sandburg Village is a mix of high-rise apartment buildings, townhouses and mid-rises. The complex occupies the area along Clark and LaSalle Streets between Division Street and North Avenue, with a few buildings on the east side of Clark Street. Sandburg Village converted to condominium ownership in 1979. |
