DescriptionUndated photograph of the Manhattan building taken by C. William Brubaker, showing sculpted ornamentation under the projecting bays. Located at 431 S. Dearborn Street, this is the third-oldest surviving Chicago high-rise building, predated only by the Rookery and the Auditorium Building. The Manhattan Building was the first skyscraper to attain a height of 16 stories.
