DescriptionView of the Republic Steel (later LTV Steel Plant) from near the entrance to the complex at East 116th Street and South Avenue O. A large gas storage tank with its red and white-checked painted top is on the left of the photograph, and a smokestack is to its right. A transmission tower with multiple power lines is visible against the sky. The plant closed in 2001.
