DescriptionView of the Acme Coke Plant, located west of South Torrence Avenue and north of 116th Street. A quenching tower, used for cooling high temperature exhaust gases with water vapor, is on the left of the photograph next to the smokestacks. The Acme plant was shut down in 2001.
