Part of the facilities of the Material Service Corporation (now Prairie Material, Ready Mix Yard No. 32), located on the west bank of the river (835 North Peoria Street) are visible in the foreground and on the left of the photograph. The North Branch of the Chicago River, which flows along the west side of Goose Island, is visible near the center of the image, as well as a group of concrete storage silos (demolished). The Lissner Corporation plant, located on North Branch Street on Goose Island (now Kendall College), is on the right of the image. |
