| Description | View to north along Rush Street from south of the intersection with East Ontario Street. The Croydon Hotel (now The James Hotel) is on the left of the image, and the Water Tower Hyatt House hotel (originally Water Tower Inn) is visible near the center. The 111 East Chestnut apartments (Elysees Condominiums) rise in the background. Part of Lawry's restaurant, located at the northeast corner of East Ontario and North Rush Streets, is visible on the right of the photograph. The restaurant is housed in the building that was once the home of L. Hamilton McCormick, but has undergone extensive changes, including the limestone facade wrapping the first floor of the house. |
