| Description | View looking west along the north side of West Superior Street from the intersection with North Sedgwick Street. The former candy factory building in the right foreground (400 West Superior Street/ 740 North Sedgwick Street) is being renovated for the Wesley-Jessen Corporation, a manufacturer of contact lenses. The Wesley-Jessen development extends the length of the block along West Superior, between North Sedgwick and North Hudson Streets. The complex now houses facilities for the City of Chicago, including the Chicago Board of Ethics and the Central Hearing Facility for the city's court services. On the left side of the image, the Montgomery Ward & Company headquarters (now The Montgomery condominiums, 535 West Chicago Avenue/ 500 West Superior Street) is silhouetted against the sky. |
