Chicago, (ANP)-- At a compendable dance recital presented last week at the Goodman Theatre here, four widely known dancers-- Katherine Dunham, Frances Allis. Diana Huebert and MArian Van Tuyl-- pooled their talents in an elaborate program that brought forth rounds of applause form the big audience. Proceeds of the entertainment were to be added to a fund for the relief of child victims of Spain's civil war, the recital being sponsored by the medical bureau of the American Friends of Spanish Democracy.
Katherine Diinham and her group presented a senational group of dances, prolonged applause greeting
their rendition of the Haitian ceremonial dances, and calling for repeated encores. Moss Dunham owes her remarkable interpretation of Haitian folk dances to her trip to the island republic, made possible through a Rosenwald Fellowship grant.' |
