Tickets Placed on Sale for
Dunham Program
Thursday Night.
A special block of select seats has been reserved at a slight ad¬ vance in price, and is available for the dance recital of Kath¬ erine Dunham, Tliursday night in the Joliet high school auditor¬ ium, the Business and Profes¬ sional Woman's club, sponsors announced today.
Popular prices prevail for all tickets and ail ticlcets are re¬ served, but those desiring es¬ pecially good seats may obtain tltem by paying a small addition¬ al fee, officers of the club an nounced.
Reserve Scat Sale Opens
The reserved seat sale opened today at Stillman's drug store and will continue Tuesday, Wed¬ nesday and Thursday in the high school. The box office in high school will be open daily from 7:30 to 8:30; 11 to 1 and 3;30 to 5 o'clock. There are both student and adult tickets on sale.
Miss Mabel Hunt, president of the club, today asked ticket salesmen to make returns Wed¬ nesday and Thursday between 11 and 2 o'clock to Mrs. Edith Hoyt in the Joliet Federal Sav¬ ings and Loan association office, Scott and Van Buren streets. Tickets in Demand
A spirited demand for tickets has been evidenced, committees report, for the initial Joliet ap¬ pearance of the young colored dancer who was educated in the.Toilet high school graduated from the University of Chicago, honored with a Rosenwald fel¬ lowship which sheused in study¬ ing the native dances of her peo¬ ple in the West Indies and which, with her ballet, she has presented with the Chicago Civic opera company, in the aoodman theater and on other stages.
The weird rhythms of native dancers, with native accompani¬ ment, the colorful costumes of the Haitians, Spanish and French interpretations, will be given by the danseuse and her large company which are pre¬ sented to Joliet the first time by the business women's group.
The program will start at 8:lo o'clock Thursday night.
