TranscriptBill Norwood, Rushing Take Honors

Billy Norwood and Marion Rushing were awarded the Egyptian's lineman and Back of the Week awards for their performances against Western Illinis University last Friday night.
This marks the second consecutive week Captain Rushing has received the honor, after sharing it with guard Bill Brown last week. The Pinkneyville senior played only a few minutes during the second half because of leg injury, but his outstanding play during the first half earned him the honor.
Norwood, Southern's starting quarterback for 3 straight games saw almost 60 minutes of action against Western, as his replacement in earlier games, Dave Wheeler, was sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Bill engineered both SIU touch downs, scoring one himself, and completed eight of 22 passes. Six of his passes were dropped in open territory by Saluki receivers.
Norwood is a 165-pound junior from Centalia, Ill.
