The text of the speech dealt with how easy it is to feel inter-racial brotherhood just one week out of the year, how hard it is to practice being a real person all the time. Miss Virgie Hornberger, president of the Dunbar Society, served as toastmistress during the evening for approximately 75 guests. Miss Ernestine Cox, accompanied by Mrs. David Mclntosh, sang "Reflections", written by Mr. and Mrs. David Mcintosh. Group singing, led by Misa Hornberger, was conducted at intervals throughout the evening. Landis add Miss Julia Minnette Barber, sponsors of the Independent Student Union; Miss Annamarie Krause, sponsor of the Y.W.C.A., and Mr. David Mcintosh, sponsor of the Dunbar Society, were all present. |
