TranscriptDUNBAR NAMES CANDIDATES FOR QUEEN TITLE

Reports of the five Dunbar committees were made by the committee chairmen, Wednesday, October 1, 1939. Following the acceptance of these reports, members' nominations for queen candidates were in order
L. Norton, R. Hoover. I. Harris. R. Allen. and L. Young were nominated. However, as to whom the queen will be, no one will know until October 21.
The speaker of the evening. Mr. J E. Penn. Principal of Attack Senior and Junior H. S. of Carbondale. gave an interesting talk. His theme
was "I Dare You.'' He dared Ihe society to achieve greater heights than ever before. President S. Davis told the Society that the Homecoming dance orchestra will be announced Wednesday, October 11. Also featured on the program was a solo by Mathen Curtis of East St. Louis.
