| Transcript | 19 TRACK LETTERS AWARDED; PAYTON LEADING SCORER VICTORY IN TEACHERS MEET HIGHLIGHT OF SUCCESSFUL MAROON TRACK SEASON Nineteen S. I. T. C. trackmen will receive varsity track letters for the year, with Robert Courtney of Marion, athletic manager, also on the list, it was announced at the athletic office last week. This is less than has been customary. The qualifications for winning letters are the scoring of fifteen points during the season or the scoring of one or more points in either Little Nineteen or State Teachers College meets. The men who will receive letters and the points scored by each are as follows: Gene Payton, 88; Harry Baud, 70; John Crisp, 64 ; Dale lull, 49 1—2; Wilmer Piper, 35; Morris Heiderscheid, 23 3-4; Bryan Kerley. 22; Max Parsons, 21; Francis Grisko. 21; Robert Reeves, 20. 1-4; Mac Aiken, 20; Reed Tullis, 16, 5-6; James Newton, 16; Tom North, 16; Laverne Tripp, 14 3-4 Vincent Parednis, 11; James Odum, 3 3-4; Horrell Hayes, 2 1-2 John Buckner, 2 1-2. The following men have also competed in one or more meets during the past year, but have failed to score enough points to receive a letter: Milan Warford, 7; Marvin Lawson, 6 5-6; Lee Chenoweth, 6; Russell Emery, 4; Wilbur George, 3; Raymond Keuhn, 3; George Dohanich, 1; Franks, 1; John Lehde, 0; John Moss, 0; Marion Wiley, 0; Lester Deason, 0; Byford Raines, 0. Competing in one less meet than most of his teammates, Payton, freshman flash from Carrier Mills. |
