TranscriptBullocks Accepts Invite to All-American Bowl

Amos Bullocks, workhorse of Southern Illinois University's high powered rushing attack, may or may not receive first-team Little All-American honors this season, but he already has accepted an invitation to play' in the fourth annual All-Amercan Bowl game.
The nard-running Bullocks. one of Southern's all-time great half- backs and certainly the most durable ball-carrier ever to perform for the Salukis, has averaged five yards a carry n more than 400 rushint attempts since breaktng into Sirs lineup as o freShman.
This year Bullocks pushed his, total career yardage past the one-mile mark 1, 760 yards in
Southern's third game and since has gone well over the 2, 000-yard mark as his patented off-tackle slants have the Salukis headed to-:
ward a second straight conference,
championship.
In the All-American Bowl game Dec. 30 at Tueson, Ariz.., he hopes to attract the attention of professional football scouts.
Following a standout prep career at Dunbar High School Chicago, the 6-I, l95-jund speedsEer wasted little time in attractting attention on the Crbondale campus. He carried only 28 times as a freshman, but picked up 126 yards for a neat 4.5 average,
The next season he led the Interstate Conference in Scoring with 56 points despite having suffered a broken collarbone in the third game of the campoin. Last year he missed an IIAC record by a scant, two yards as he collected 745 yards rushing in six league games and 996 overall
