NoteThe Modine Learning Center was constructed on the back campus behind the gymnasium and opened in 1967. It consists of the six-story Carlson Tower classroom building, Wikholm Laboratories, and the Lecture Hall-Auditorium. The complex is named in honor of Arthur Modine, a North Park College benefactor. His father, J.A. Modine, was the contractor who built Old Main in 1894. Carlson Tower is named in memory of Dr. Paul Carlson, a Covenant medical missionary in the Congo who was martyred in 1964. Wikholm Laboratories, the science laboratories located on the lower level of Carlson Tower, are named in memory of former chemistry teacher Donald Wikholm.
