| Description | This black and white photograph shows 4 people waiting at a counter at the information booth in Chicago's Union Station. All of them are facing left. In the foreground a tall thin lamp base dissects the picture. On the left, in the background a man and woman are waiting. Only part of the woman's face is visible. She is wearing a jacket and hat with a veil in the back. The man is wearing a suit, tie and fedora. His forearms are resting on the counter. On the right, stand two sailors in white sailor hats and dark uniforms, white stripes trimming their cuffs and v-neck collars. The sailor on the left is resting his right elbow on the counter and is touching his upper lip with his index finger. The sailor on the right is resting both forearms on the counter and is holding a small folded piece of typewritten paper. |
