This certifies
that James Milne has this day purchased of John Griswold Blocks No. 145. 146. & 147, less six acres, in the Town of Lockport for the sum of Three hundred seventy nine dollars and 61 cents; that he has paid towards the same the sum of Ninety four dollars and 90 cents; being one quarter of said purchase money, and also Seventeen dollars and 8 cents, being one years interest in advance, on the residue of said purchase money, the said John Griswold has also received from said purchaser his three several promissory notes for Ninety four dollars and 90 cents each, due in one, two, and three years, respectively, for the residue of said purchase money - Said notes bearing interest at six per cent. per annum, payable annually in advance. And that upon the full payment of the said promissory notes, and the interest thereon, promptly, according to their tenor and effect, the said purchaser will be entitled to receive from said John Griswold a good and sufficient deed of conveyance of said lots; but in case of a failure on the part of said purchaser to pay such interest, or the residue of such principal, within twenty days after the same, or any instal[l]ment thereof becomes due, he shall forfeit said lots and all claim thereto and all payments made on account thereof
