TranscriptFront: This is a scene on the other side of the wall from where we were. Does it still give you a creepy feeling?; Back: [To] Miss Dora Essinger, 1726 Central Ave., Fort Dodge, Iowa.; Dear Dora:- Rec'd your card & was glad to hear you arrived at LaSalle OK. Haven't heard anything from Mendota since we were there. It has been rainy ever since you were here very few sunny days. Had a snow storm this P.M. A stroke of lightning struck a telephone pole & broke the wire so we can't get central. They allow visitors at the pen again now. The notice was in the paper last week. Aunt Freda has blood poison in the little finger of her left hand. She goes to Doc's daily. Was to Joliet Wed to get the rest of my dress. How did the pictures turn out? Still have the "hard luck cat." I think she's an Old Maid's pet she tries to get into the house every chance she has. She and the dog eat out of the same dish now. Uncle Hals [Hal's] finished cutting corn last week are getting ready to plant now. Ans. soon. [Signed] Verna.
