DescriptionColor Postcard; Women of the Koster Horizon 6 Village (2500 B.C.) harvesting fish left stranded in shallow lakes by receding waters in the floodplain of the lower Illinois River valley. This is one of six original paintings by George Armstrong depicting life in the more than 11 separate levels of prehistoric habitation discovered by archeologists at the Koster Site near Kampsville, Ill. They were commissioned by The Evanston Bank, Evanston, Ill.
