DescriptionB&W photograph; This view is south on State Street looking northeast. Buildings left to right up 10th Street were the Old Norton building (which later housed Miller Ace Hardware) and the Styx McDonald building (site of the origin of the 1895 Lockport fire) containing the John R. Pitts Jewelry and Grocery Store at the time of this picture. The upper floors housed the Northwestern Telephone Company offices and switchboards. The next building is City Hall and the fire hose carts. The Anne Whelan and O'Brien houses are next, and finally the old Baptist Church
