TranscriptsState of Illinois Will County OB I, Alonzo Leach Shff of Will County do hereby certify that by Virtue of a Special Writ of XXXX and fee bill issued out of the office of the Clerk of Second day of November AD 1849, in favor of Thomas Keegan [plaintiff] and against Erastus Newton [defendant] for the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Six Dollars and fifty seven cents debt and four dollars and sixty cents damages and also the debt for bill for two dollars and ninety three ¾ cents. I did on the 12th day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine Levvy upon the following decribed Real Estate to Unit Land Number Two (2) in Block Number Sixty One (61) in the town of Lockport as aut and recorded by the Commissioners of the Illinois and Michigan Canal. With aut I am [well] situated thereon and on the third day of December 1849 at my office at the court house between the hours 9 O'Clock AM and in the setting of the sum of the same day having generously advertised the same with the time an dplace of such date by pasting notices thereof in writing in three of the most public places in said County of at least twenty days prior to the day of sale aforesaid lot at Public venue the said above described Property and at said sale Nelson D. Elwood did bid for William Newton for the above described property the sum of One Hundred and Seventy Nine Dollars and forty four cents it being the amt of debt damaged cost and interest together with me deed of sale and he being the highest and best bidder therefore the same mos. struck off and Sat. to him for that time by me and he will be entitled to a deed for the sum on the third day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one certify the same that he Redeamed in according to law. In witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and affixed my seal this the eleventh day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine. (SEAL) Alonzo Leach, Shff.
