Dear Sir
The Farmers & Mechs Bank of Michigan have sent me theirState Bonds and Script for Registry, and in the Lot of Script I find some 2 to $300 off the small Script issued by Geo F. Randolph. Will you do me the favor of informing me whether Randolph left large Script with you at the office to Redeem his issues: if not, whether you know if he made any arrangements with any one else to Redeem it.
Rumor (which is not very good authority) says, The canal estimates are to be paid the first of next month, is there any foundation for the Report? A reply to above questions, will very much oblige.
Your friend & obdt. Servant
B.W. Raymond
