TranscriptEMANCIPATION DAY.--Our colored citi-
zens celebrated emancipation day, last
Monday, in a very joyous manner. A
picnic, west of the city, was one of the
attractions, while in the city, the colored
zouave company, to the number of forty
muskets, turned out on parade. The cel-
ebration terminated in the evening by a
dance in Hamblin's hall, the Cornet band
furnishing the music. We have not
heard of any speeches being made, which
may be regarded as lucky for the colored
folks.
