My Dear Sir
Coming East-bound for my health
Not possessing greatest wealth
I selected, being so fine
Your now famous "Billing's Line"
It is Cheapest Best and Quickest!
Leaving Billings one fine day
Starting east-ward on my way
I received most prompt assistance
From you brakeman "non-resistance"
It is Cheapest Best and Quickest!
My 'Stop-Overs' I enjoyed
With pleasure un-alloyed
Your Conductors are, I find
Accommodating to "my Kind"
As it's Cheapest Best and Quickest!
Your "Agents" on the way
Marked attention did me pay
As, when resting in the sun,
They beguiled mw with a gun
Its the Cheapest Best and Quickest.
The "Scenery" from a lofty height
When, hungry for a little bite,
I surveyed the landscape o'er
Rendered my a trifle sore
Tho' its Cheapest Best and Quickest.
The "Battle Grounds" you advertise,
Discretion, surely, I advise
For, when-ever one showed fight
I took leave, by sudden flight
It is Cheapest Best and Quickest.
Superb Sleepers too I found
Which kept me off the Cold damp ground
Your section men were very free
with their assistance unto me
It was Cheapest Best and Quickest.
Passing near "Hot Springs" one day
I took to my heels and skipped away
For your Doctors on their wrath
Attempted to make me take a Bath
Its Cheapest Best and Quickest.

At Your Road-bed my dear Sir,
One should never cast a slur;
Its sweeping Curves lined up so well
That on their sunny banks I'd dwell.
Its Cheapest Best and Quickest!
At Lincoln Lunch counter I went
It never cost me one red cent!
For don't you very clearly See
How awful kind they were to me
Its Cheapest Best and Quickest!
At Omaha "a Reception" came
But surely they found me quite game.
A week in County Jail I spent,
And over in to Ioway went
Its Cheapest Best and Quickest
Across that State, to Illinois.
I came along with other boys.
In "Observation Cars" sublime
Sans Pie, Sans Chew, Sans Smoke Sans Booze
Its Cheapest Best and Quickest.
So here I am, my Journey done.
O'er Billings Line, my way I've Won.
Accept, Dear Sir, my heartfelt thanks,
Your Line, the very highest Ranks.
Its Cheapest Best and Quickest.

When traveling on this line,
And you should want to dine,
Remember "HOOPES' HOUSES" fine.
Everything served is superfine.
Locations:
Burlington and Galesburg.
Vermont and Beardstown.
Travelers all and city folk
Should lunch at the "Counter"
Or dine in the "Hall"
Prices cheap enough for all.
