Description
This
jar
or
bottle
is
decorated
with
vertical
lines
that
,
combined
with the
shape
of the
jar
,
give
it
the
appearance
of a
drum.
Although
pottery
drums
are
present
in the
Southwest
, the
opening
of this
vessel
is
too
small
for
it
to have
served
as a
drum.
It
probably
held
water
or a
mixture
of
water
and
other
materials
for
use
in
rituals.
