DescriptionThis small ladle with a broken handle has two birds perched on the head of what may be a Hopi Pahlik Mana (Water Drinking Girl). Pahlik Mana appears during women's dances, especially the Mamzrau Initiation Dance. Pahlik Mana is never masked at First or Second Mesa and so she is not viewed as a katsina there, but she is a katsina at Third Mesa and is always masked when carved as a doll.
