Description
This
prayer
meal
bowl
is
unusual
in that
it
has a
dentate
or
scalloped
rim
rather
than a
crenellated
rim.
Six
tadpoles
,
water
symbols
, are
painted
on
both
the
interior
and
exterior
surfaces;
the
ones
on the
interior
are not
evenly
spaced.
Prayer
bowls
contain
water
and
corn
meal
on
ceremonial
altars;
they are also
used
to
hold
corn
meal
in
houses
to be
used
to
bless
the
katsinam
and
other
ceremonial
participants.
