DescriptionThis basket handle, crenellated prayer meal bowl has four cumaikoli (dragonfly) motifs, water symbols, painted on both the interior and exterior surfaces. Prayer bowls contain water and corn meal on ceremonial altars; they are also used to hold corn meal in houses to be used to bless the katsinam and other ceremonial participants.
