DescriptionLocated at 111-113 East Monroe street and owned by T.W. and W.L. Evans, the Model Laundry was the starting point of the 1900 fire. In the space of eight hours, the fire caused $2 million in property damages and one death. The Model Laundry building sustained $10, 000 in damages (City Directory of 1897; Bloomington, Ill., before and after the great fire of June 19, 1900, ILL 977.3592.)
