DescriptionB.Nov. 24, 1894 D. 1973 Mayme Ward was the ""only woman to accomplish the double somersault to a hand-to-hand catch and a double somersault in mid-air while blindfolded."" She and her husband Edward Ward lived ""for many years at 1201 E. Emerson in Bloomington where they operated the Ward Training School of Aerialists. In 1970, still active in the circus life, Mayme was elected to the Circus Hall of Fame."" Pantagraph Jan. 12, 1973
