DescriptionImage of the Palace Theater in Peoria, IL. It is located in part of a larger stone building that takes up the street corner. Other shops are located on the first floor of that building on both sides of the theater. The building has a lot of windows and Ionic columns over the entrance overhang for the theater. The facade of the theater is very ornately carved culminating in a large decorative pediment with statues at the top. On the corner of the building by the roof, "WM E. Hull 1920" is carved into the stone. A light up sign that reads: "Ascher's Palace/ Opens Thurs Night Unified Program Vaudeville" is suspended from the facade over the entrance. An automobile is parked in front of the theater, and ladders are under the entrance overhang. Nearby shops have signs that read: "Home Made Candy, " "Flowers Telegraphed Everywhere, " "Drugs the Rexall Store, " and "Cigars and Cigarettes." A couple men are standing on the sidewalk with streetlights, and streetcar tracks run down the street in front of the theater. Automobiles are parked perpendicular to the sidewalk on the other side of the building.
