Signs (Notices)
DescriptionOutdoor scene of a parade proceeding down a brick road lined with stores and crowds of men and women. The road itself is visible through the crowd, and men walk alongside horses that pull decorated carts with people in them. The storefronts have windows, awnings, and signs, and they are decorated with patriotic banners. American flags and more banners are hung overhead across the street. One sign reads: "LUNCH, " and "Tailor" is directly above the awning for "First National Bank." Trees and streetlights are in the scene too. Most of the people are wearing hats. Perhaps the work of HH or RM Cole, active in central Illinois from 1854-1902.
