DescriptionIndoor portrait of a young child standing by a chair with one leg crossed over the other. The child has very short hair and is wearing a sailor-style outfit. The outfit has a little anchor on the chest, a large bow below the anchor, and a belt around the waist. The child is also wearing stockings and button-up boots. The child has one hand resting on the arm of the chair and the other hand hanging at the side.

Perhaps the work of HH or RM Cole, active in central Illinois from 1854-1902.
