| Subject | Crowds Men Women Children Storefronts Stores & shops Flags Decorations Awnings Windows Trees Signs Hats Brickwork Signs (Notices)
|
| Description | Outdoor scene of a brick road lined with stores and crowds of men, women, and children. The crowd is also grouped at the end of the road in the background. A few men and children are leaving the crowd and standing out in the empty road. American flags and patriotic banners are strung overhead and across the street. The storefronts have windows, awnings, signs, and banners too. Trees are in the background and on the left side of the image. One sign in the background advertises an ice cream parlor. Most people in the crowd are wearing hats. Perhaps the work of HH or RM Cole, active in central Illinois from 1854-1902. |
