DescriptionThe Madison Theater was built at 502 Main St by the Robinson Amusement Co. It opened on Oct. 16, 1920. This image shows the grand opening and the marquee reads: "Grand Opening, Humoresque." There are people lined up outside the theater and cars parked in the parking lot. There is a vertical sign hanging from the second story of the building that reads: "Madison." There are awnings coming from the first story windows on the side of the building. This image can be found in Ray Brian's Pictorial History of Peoria Amusements, Book Two.
