DescriptionThe slide reads: "Gipps Brewery." The photograph shows the Gipps Brewery in Peoria, Illinois. The signs of the building read: "Gipps Beer, " "Gipps Brweing Co., " and "Amberlin Beer." They include a sign in the shape of a beer bottle. Several barges and other boats are anchored in the Illinois River next to the brewery. Smoke is coming from several chimneys in the brewing facility. At one time Peoria was known as the whiskey capital with hundreds of distilleries and breweries producing beer, whiskey and other spirits.
